Lombok Indonesia: Travel From Bali To Lombok

There are many ways to come and visit Lombok, Indonesia. If you're from outside Indonesia, then the best way to go is by airplane. But if you're already at a city in Indonesia, you may take another option of transportation to reach Lombok island. Travel from Bali to Lombok can be done by three options, they're by plane, by speed boat and by ferry.

Lombok Indonesia: Lombok Airport

Old Lombok Airport
Airport in Lombok used to be at Selaparang Airport in Mataram, but since last year, 1 October 2011, the airport has moved to the new and bigger airport, Lombok International Airport, at Tanak Awu Central Lombok. The airport is about 26 km away from Mataram with more extensive area than the old airport.

Lombok Indonesia: Bali Lombok Ferry 

Bali Lombok Ferry is starting from Padang Bai harbour. To go to the harbour, you will need to rent a vehicle to take you there. The place is about 2.5 hours away from Denpasar. The ferry will take about 4-5 hours to go across the ocean to Lembar Harbour, Lombok. From the harbour, you will need to take another one hour to Mataram or One and a half hour to Senggigi Beach Area.

Bali to Lombok Ferry

Another option to go other than Bali Lombok ferry is by speed boat from Serangan or Benoa, which will take you for only 1.5 - 2 hours to Lombok.

 

Lombok Indonesia: Lombok Hotels

There are just a lot of choices of hotels in Lombok as well as around three gilis. As the rate in Indonesia is quite low, the hotels are basically not too expensive compare to dollar rate.


Rooms for backpackers can be started from as low as USD $10 while 3-4 star hotels can be ranging from USD $50 to USD $300, depends on the room you choose.


Choices available are also include villas, private villa, bungalow, resort and beach cottage. So, whatever it is you're choosing, you can always have some fun enjoying your time in Lombok Indonesia.
