Bali Indonesia: Airport in Bali
Bali has an International airport named Ngurah Rai International Airport, located on the North side of Bali island, about 13 km from Denpasar, the capital city of the province. The airport itself is part of Tuban Village, Kuta Bali. The IATA Code for Bali airport is DPS. Built back in 1930, the airport has its own historical stories of how it became the spot of Japanese planes and helicopters to fly in and out of Indonesia. After the war, the airport was built and inaugurated in 01 August 1969, by Indonesian President, Soeharto.

Ngurah Rai International Airport is under development project in order to make the place more comfortable whereas later when the new airport has done developed, it can hold up to 25 millions passengers.
The development projects are including development of Terminal buildings, Car park areas, and apron. The existing terminals will be functioning as domestic terminal while the new building will be operated fully as the International terminal.
The whole project is prepared to be done in 2013.

As the airport in Bali is an International airport, travelers can easily reach Bali from many parts of the world without much confusion. There are many airways operating their flights to Bali directly including Garuda Indonesia, Lion Air, Air Asia, Citilink, Jetstar, and Merpati airlines.



If you're using a private jet charter service to come to Bali, then you'll be landing on Letkol Wisnu airport, about 3 kilometers away from Denpasar.
