Komodo Indonesia: Where is Komodo Island?
Komodo Island is part of East Nusa Tenggara islands. The island isn't too far away from Bali and Lombok and can be reached by plane or boat then vehicle.


Komodo is a big lizard that is rarely to be found these days as the animal is basically on the verge of extinction. There are more than 1300 komodo in Komodo National park, including those in Rinca island, Padar Island and Gili Motang. The place has becoming one of UNESCO World Heritage Site.
How to Get to Komodo Indonesia

There are ways to visit Komodo Indonesia. The options are to take flight from Denpasar, Bali or Jakarta and to go sailing from Lombok to Labuan Bajo.

Each option is giving you good reason of why you should come to Komodo National Park.

First option to go to Komodo Indonesia is by plane. Most flight goes to Labuan Bajo airport is on morning schedule. But no reasons to hate morning flight because most visitors who came to Komodo National Park by plane simply just loved the view from the air. Make sure you ask for a window seat when you go to Komodo island by plane as this is one of the best flight route that gives you enjoyable and great view!

The other option to go to Komodo Indonesia is by sailing from Lombok to Labuan Bajo. Sail operators are divided into two choices, the luxury and the regular ones.
What To Do:
Komodo Sailing

Sailing can actually be done from Lombok to Labuan Bajo or vice versa that will take you a minimum of four to five days on the sea. Included as part of the tour are visiting Komodo island, Rinca Island, Gili Laba, Gili Bola, and many other great spots on the way to the other destination.

Regular boat sailing
During the sailing trip, visitors will be provided meals three times a day and will be directed to spots to snorkeling or diving.
Luxury boat sailing
Visitors can also visit pink beach in Komodo Indonesia. Some of the sail operators also offer trip to Moyo island, famously known as the private and lovely place where the late Lady Diana had her visit years ago.
